Although Demio is a relatively recent addition to the webinar market, it provides enough features to compete with the strongest players in the industry. Creating a webinar is pretty straightforward, and even though there are many features on tap, Demio makes handling conferences a simple matter.

Demio conference rooms can run for a maximum of 10 hours, support up to 1,000 attendees, and share three cameras simultaneously. Although the number of cameras is not something to die for, administrators can use these to display themselves or share the spotlight with attendees by giving them permission to use their camera and microphone. Besides the live chat where people can tag each other and send public or private messages, the administrators and moderators can also easily create polls and share handouts while the conference is running. Everything is one click away, meaning that people leading the webinar can add new things as the meeting progresses without breaking the flow.

Video quality is set to HD, and unfortunately Demio doesn’t scale down the quality when the user’s connection isn’t fast enough. Consequently, attendees suffering from a bad internet connection may not be able to follow the webinar to its full extent. Nonetheless, since all conferences are recorded, admins can later share the full webinar with the attendees to ensure they can rewatch it as many times as they want.

Speaking of recording, Demio also provides the option to schedule pre-recorded webinars. Administrators just need to upload an MP4 file or use a previous session, and that’s it. Despite these conferences being pre-recorded, attendees can still answer polls, speak with each other in the live chat, or receive handouts the same way they would in a live conference.

To make things even smoother, Demio offers the ability to integrate up to 10 different pieces of software, such as Zapier or MailChimp. Zapier is especially important if the company wants to run a paid event, as there isn’t a native feature for this kind of transaction. With the Zapier integration, organizations can receive payments from Stripe, PayPal, or ClickFunnels.

Setting up web conferences with Demio is also child’s play. Everything starts when the user logs in for the first time. A pop-up appears, and if the user so desires they can start the quick step-by-step tutorial provided right away. There’s a scheduled webinar with over 50 made-up attendees to cheer you on while you’re testing all the tools and running the live stream.

When creating a new event, administrators can schedule a standard session, establish a group of web conferences to run throughout multiple sessions, or program a pre-recorded webinar. After naming the event, the administrator is prompted to go to the settings interface where they can easily schedule, customize, share, and check the activity of the conference. From designing the registration page to scheduling email notifications, everything can be set up without using a third-party app. Of course, this includes preparing the conference room beforehand where administrators can upload presentation materials and set up resources, such as polls, handouts, and featured actions.

Cyber criminality is increasing at an alarming rate, and applications you wouldn’t think about being hacked – such as web conferencing software – are actually the main ones being targeted. Unfortunately, Demio doesn’t provide easily accessible information about how it secures data. Nevertheless, after contacting customer support and getting access to the company’s DPA, we found out that all internal and external traffic exchanges use TLS/SSL 256-bit certificates, where all internal traffic goes through this private network. SSL is a good way to encrypt data for transmission, but we would prefer to see AES being used since it provides a safer method of information storage.

Privacy-wise, Demio is built to enable companies to be GDPR compliant. Although vital if you have European attendees, it’s possible to disable this option by visiting the account settings.

Don’t let Demio’s online-only availability put you off. Attendees can attend webinars from any device, and the company decided not to have mobile or desktop apps in order to ease the login process. Demio states it supports Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge, but since most browsers are Chrome- or Firefox-based, this means it’s possible to log in through the majority of browsers available. For example, we used Brave to test the software and didn’t have any issues. On mobile, it supports browsers from the latest versions of both iOS and Android OS, and attendees can enter a webinar by just clicking their unique join link. However, we did miss having a way to reach the administrator board from mobile. Not only is there not an app, but the website is still not mobile-optimized, a problem that Demio should definitely address as soon as possible.

Demio offers its services through three different packages: Starter, Growth, and Business, where the maximum number of attendees per conference is 50, 150, and 500, respectively. Companies looking to create webinars for larger audiences should contact customer support to build a personalized subscription since the software can support up to 1,000 people per session.

Besides the room size, Demio adds extra features with each higher tier. Companies that want to have email notifications, automated events, and their branding displayed in the conference room need to get at least the Growth subscription. Demio’s ultimate tier – Business – provides priority support, a dedicated account rep, and the possibility of having four hosts running web conferences simultaneously.

Regardless of the chosen package, it’s always possible to select between monthly and yearly installments. The latter offers a 30% discount on the service, where the lowest price point is $34 per month. We advise testing the tool before committing to a purchase by taking advantage of the 14-day free trial. It comes with all the features found in the Growth package, but rooms are limited to 25 attendees. Furthermore, after getting one of the subscriptions, Demio offers some extra time to test the product with its 30-day money-back guarantee.

Demio’s standard is to be as intuitive as possible, and that also includes how to reach their customer support. There is a FAQ page on the website, and users can communicate through Facebook, Twitter, or email if they prefer. But with a 24/7 live chat always ready to help, the other communication channels become a little obsolete. It doesn’t matter if you’re browsing the website as a prospect, setting up a web conference in the admin board, or even running a live session – a customer agent is always one click away. Demio states that answer time may be up to one hour in the cheapest plans and up to 10 minutes in the top tier subscription. However, the average response time for all its clients is a mere five minutes.
